Application Form Instructions

In order to complete your application correctly, please read these instructions carefully and dont't forget to take a look to the FAQs section in the Resources menu:

 

If the instructions of the application form are different from those you find below, please FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.


Please, remember to fill in the online form in English Language. You should also translate into english the Documents listed below in the Compulsory Additional Documents section.

Select your TARGET GROUP, please note that depending on your target group you can apply only for the mobility types indicated in the following table.

TARGET GROUP 2

Nationals of Argentina, Bolivia and Peru, REGISTERED in a higher education institution of these countries NOT INCLUDED in the partnership, or having obtained a university degree or equivalent in a higher education  institution (INCLUDED OR NOT in the partnership) of these countries. This includes the possibility of providing mobility opportunities to third-country nationals working in public administration, public and private enterprises.

TARGET GROUP 3

Nationals of Argentina, Bolivia and Peru who are in particularly vulnerable situations.

It may cover mobility for students holding the nationality of one of the third-countries concerned and having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries) or where it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination grounds.

Before filling in your Application Form, please read CAREFULLY:

CITIZENSHIP
  • The beneficiaries of the mobility grants reserved to the Third-Countries concerned have to be citizens of the same Countries, even in cases of double citizenship.
  • The European beneficiaries have to be nationals of one of the European eligible Countries: the 27 member-states of the European Union, states of the EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and the candidate Countries (Croatia and Turkey).
LANGUAGE:
  • Students must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the course.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies at higher education level.
  • For post-doctorate mobility, all candidates must have obtained their doctorate in the last two years .
  • For post-doctorate mobility, all candidates must have the support of one of the European partner universities to carry out a postdoctorate mobility.
  • For Academic Staff mobility the home and host universities and the individual teachers must agree on the programme of lectures to be delivered by the visiting teachers, on the research activities or type of training to be followed.
PLEASE NOTE:
  • The mobility flows will be from Europe to the Latin America and viceversa. Mobility flows for student and academic staff between the European institutions of the partnership or between institutions in the Latin American Countries of the partnership are NOT ELIGIBLE.
  • No student, and no academic staff member can benefit from more than one mobility activity within the same project.

TARGET GROUP 2 candidates having obtained a degree in a Higher Education Institution included or not in the partnership must fill in the form as follows:

  • "Home University": "Another (Not on the list)" even if it is in the list.
  • "If your Home Institution doesn't appear on the list please write the name on the right": Name of the Higher Education Institution you have obtained the degree from.
  • "Target group which you will apply for?": Now you can choose Target Group 2.


PERSONAL DATA

All Personal Data fields are obligatory. If you do not have passport please enter your national identification number in the "International Passport Number" field, and in the "Passport Expiry Date" field enter "30/12/2030". You should provide us with your valid e-mail address because all the communication between you and us will be realised via mail.

 

ACADEMIC DATA

All data concerning the level of education (and diploma) required for your type of mobility are obligatory.

You should remember to put, concerning each level required for the type of mobility you selected, the following data: Institution Name, Location, Start Date, End Date, Name of Programme/Degree and Average mark.

An overview of the academic data required in this section for each mobility type can be found in the table below:

***The access to the Doctorate mobility in Europe requires a 5 years study career. Graduated candidates who obtained a Bachelor degree of 5 years of duration can choose if apply for a Master or a Doctorate mobility; in this last case, they won't need to send us the diploma of Master degree.

 

HOST INSTITUTION and Programme that you wish to apply for


PLEASE NOTE: due to technical problems, the application form is now showing 3 choices for Hosting Universities, while the BAPE Program just allows 2 CHOICES. Therefore, DO NOT CONSIDER THE 3rd CHOICE, for it will not be taken into account.

Before filling in your preferences regarding your host university and study field, please study the information on the following website: STUDY FIELDS. The information on the website summarizes the available study possibilities at each host university and, most importantly, the language in which the courses are given. In some cases you can find the specific website addresses to find more detailed information about the study programs. Please be aware that you should only apply for a study field of which you master the language sufficiently to follow the courses! And of course this study field (study program) should also be equivalent to your current or previous study program. Important!!! In case of Academic staff Mobility you should select the Host University and the faculty in which you would like to realise your mobility.

 

LANGUAGE COMPETENCES

You should prove your command in the language in which the courses are led. It is compulsory to attach the corresponding certificate.

 

REFERENCE

We will consult the reference you specify in your application. It is therefore important to give the correct and total contact data of your reference. Required are: name, institution, email, address, and phone number. Please remember that you are obliged to fill in.

 

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Please indicate what are your particular skills and abilities that make you an excellent candidate, why are you applying for this EMECW Programme, explain your academic interests and your work experience (if relevant). In this statement you could answer the following question: “In what way will participation in this mobility benefit you and your country?” (MAXIMUM 2000 characters)

 

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Please, indicate any physical or learning disabilities that you may suffer from. Do you foresee any personal problems (family/financial/cultural)? All the information will be treated confidentially. (MAXIMUM 2000 characters)

- Letter from the University in which you work confirming that you are a member of the teaching staff of the Institution and his/her area of teaching.

- Pre-acceptance letter by the possible Hosting Institution certifying the supervision of research/teaching.

  • TARGET GROUP 1: Proof of registration (letter of home university certifying that you are currently enrolled). If your University doesn't have a certificate of Inscription, this can be replaced by a letter of the International Relations Office with your name, surname, type and number of Identity  Document, Program you are enrolled in, academic year (IN ENGLISH).
  • TARGET GROUP 2: Two letters of recommendation (translated IN ENGLISH).
  • TARGET GROUP 3: Proof of special conditions (letter certifying your special conditions) (translated IN ENGLISH).

 

  • Passport: if you don't have a passport yet you can attach a copy of your national identity document. It would be good practice that you send us a copy of your passport as soon as you get it, before the end of the selection process (March 2010). As to the visa, remember that all mobilities must start before September 1st 2010, this means you must have your travel documents ready on time to reach the Host University before this date.
Please, remember that the following documents should be translated into English:
  • CV (if you want you can find the EUROPASS CV model here)
  • Proof of registration (letter of home university certifying that you are currently enrolled)
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Research Plan/Projects' Outline
  • Letter from the University in which you work confirming that you are a member of the teaching staff
  • Proof of special conditions (For Target Group 3: letter certifying your special conditions)
If you apply for Leiden University, or for Graz University you must translate also all the other documents required
.
  • The only allowed format of the scanned document is PDF, JPG or DOC.
  • The maximum size of the file is 1MB = 1012 KB.
  • The docs of the same category should be scanned in only ONE file, for example: all the language certificates should be merged into ONE file.

 

SUBMISSION of the online registration form

Before submit your form online, please check if all the compulsory fields are completed and required documents have been attached. After you submit your online registration form you will receive a confirmation by e-mail and you could print it.
